Day 1/2: US /Europe /Nairobi Kenya
Depart on your flight from US via Europe. The next day, arrive in Nairobi, Kenya late in the evening. Upon arrival you will be met by your SAS safari guide who will accompany you throughout your safari and escort you to your city Hotel.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru
After breakfast this morning, we journey overland into Rift Valley with its stunning landscapes. Arriving at our lodge in time for luncheon. Afternoon bird watching around Lake Nakuru, seasonal home to million of flamingos and multitude of others birdlife this has been described as the greatest ornithological spectacle on earth. The park is one of the best places in East Africa to see endangered rare black rhino alongside its white rhino cousin. A part from the dazzling birdlife around the lake, Lake Nakuru is famed for its leopards, lion and Buffalo which can be tracked down in the acacia forests.

Day 4/5: Maasai Mara
This morning we depart to the world famous Maasai Mara. We drive our way through the scenic of Great Rift Valley and unspoiled savannah that the Mara shares with the legendary Serengeti. Below us lies the Africa of your dream! A country of rolling grasslands, dense thickest and groves of acacia woodland, the Mara is home to an incredible variety of wildlife. Chances are good to see wildebeest, giraffe, Africa elephant, lion, leopard cheetah, endangered rare black rhino, bush buck, baboon and many more.
This is also the home of the Native Maasai people. The Maasai guarding their cattle is an enduring and proud figure in the Mara. Their herds of cattle represent status, wealth and livelihood to this ancient people. During our time here you may wish to visit a Maasai Village (optional) in the company of an insightful Maasai Elder and we will learn much from his orientation covering the tribal social system, custom and the places of the Maasai in today’s Africa. The bright smiles and warmth of a people once considered among the fiercest warriors on earth will surely win your heart.

Day 6: Maasai Mara
Today we get a closer look at the Mara during two extensive game runs.
Besides game drives you can opt to take optional activities. Choose to go on an optional bush walk with an expert naturalist guide or you may wish to soar over the bush in hot-air balloon (extra cost), seeing the world of the Mara as though we were part of it.
And finally the pinnacle of our stay- an optional bush cocktail party in the heart of the Mara at sunset.

Day 7/8: Amboseli National Park
Today we fly to Nairobi. Lunch at famous Carnivore Restaurant and begin a lovely drive through Athi plains and into the bush of the Amboseli National park. This seasonal swamp is one of the finest areas in the country for big game photography, attracting a vast population of wildlife. The landscape, with its perched alkaline pan and strange mirages is everywhere dominated by the glistering majestic snow–capped of Mount Kilimanjaro, an extinct volcano of 5,8944m. Known as the “Roof of Africa”.
Amboseli one of East Africa’s best locations for spotting elephant. Predators stalk the herds of grazing animals, recreating the age – old drama of life and death under the African sun, in a setting so lushly beautiful.
And tonight, as we delight in another luscious meal at this exceptional lodge, we are once again stunned by the beauty of the orange sunset that hovers in the wild African sky, signaling the end to yet another unforgettable day on safari.

Day 9/10: Ngorongoro Crater
The Ngorongoro crater is our next destination. After breakfast this morning, we travel to Namanga, clear custom and switch vehicle as we enter Tanzania. A lovely drive to Arusha for lunch. We proceed to Ngorongoro Crater, where our lodge sits dramatically on the rim of the crater, revealing an awesome panorama of the world’s largest, unfolded and intact caldera. On our second day, we descend into the crater and spend the day light hours tracking animals. This magnificent natural amphitheatre is said to have the largest concentration of animals in all of Africa, including a high density of lions and thousands of flamingos. The ever-changing mood of this great amphitheatre will hold our attention every second of the day.

Day 11/12: Serengeti
Today we travel to Serengeti, enroute we stop at Olduvai Gorge, the “Cradle of mankind’, where the Leakey family uncovered the fossil of Homohabilis. The remains of pre historic elephants, giant horned sheep and enormous ostriches have also been found in this Stone Age site. In 1969, Dr. Mary Leakey uncovered the first ever intact skill of Homo habilis, dating, from 1.75 million years ago.
And we will stand on the very ground where these early human walked and lived! Arriving at our lodge in time luncheon, we find ourselves deep in the heart of the savannah on the famous migration corridor.
With its wide open spaces, over the next two days we will discover why the fabled Serengeti typifies everyone’s dream of “Old Africa”. Morning and afternoon game run are planned.

Day 13: Serengeti/Nairobi/Departure or Extension.
We wing our way across the great plain to Nairobi via Arusha. A dayroom has been reserved at a hotel for our comfort while we enjoy a final day to shop or relax. Later this evening we proceed to the airport for your outbound flight or reconnect your optional post-trip extension to East African coast.
As we bid farewell to East Africa, we know this has been a journey to remember for the rest of our lives –a journey that the SAS staff have been pleased to share with you every step of way.
Day 14: US
Arrive home today.
What to expect:
As this an overland trip, a considerable amount of times is spend riding in a safari minibus over rough roads, and the schedules is strenuous. Participant should be physically fit.
