Day 1: U.S.A
Leave U.S for overnight transatlantic flight to Europe (London or Amsterdam)
Day 2: Arrive Kilimanjaro / Arusha
Arrive in Europe and connect with your flight to Arusha, Tanzania. Upon arrival, you will be met by our representative and escorted to your lodge at Lake Duluti, near Arusha. Explore town of Arusha, visit National Museum and local markets.
Arusha Coffee Lodge
Day 4/5: Volunteer with street children
Volunteer at Arusha center for street children supported by Sirinket Foundation. Teach English, help with homework, play games, participate in various workshops such as artworks, jewelry making and help with cooking meals.
Day 6/7: Maasai Community
Spend two days in this rural community, home to the Maasai people and work with Reto women help group- supported by Sirinket Foundation. Participate in the daily life of local families. Activities include learning weaving and bead work, building construction and visiting the local school and churches or temples.
Day 8: Lake Manyara National Park
On today's two game drives we're sure to see hippos, which we can get closer to here than anywhere else; as well as blue monkeys, lions, elephants, giraffes, impalas, wildebeests and zebras along with birdlife such as the Black Kite, White-necked Raven, Hildebrandt’s Francolins and much more.
Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge
Day 9: Lake Manyara National Park / Ngorongoro Crater
Ascend through the highlands to the very rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. Situated on the crater's rim, Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge offers a magnificent view of the crater below. Ngorongoro Crater has one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. On today’s excursion your expert tour guide driver will lead you on thrilling game-viewing drive by 4WD Safari vehicle to explore this unique phenomenon. It is sure to be one of the highlights of your trip to Tanzania. This afternoon we descend into spectacular Ngorongoro, a UNESCO Conservation Area, International Biosphere Reserve, and site of Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact volcanic caldera. On the crater's floor is Africa in microcosm: grassland, swamps, lakes, forests, mountains, and unparalleled wildlife, including the rare black rhino and black-maned male lion among its 30,000 large mammals. Vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, eland, buffalo, impala and their predators—the big cats—roam the crater floor.
Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge
Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast this morning, you descend through the early morning mists 2,000 feet to the crater floor for a full day of game viewing in what has been called the world's largest zoo without bars, contained in a natural amphitheater. We will have a private picnic lunch in the floor of the crater. Enjoy game viewing among the Crater's lion, elephant, cheetah, wildebeest, zebra and rare black rhino.
Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge
Day 11: Ngorongoro/ Kilimanjaro / Europe
This morning's pre-breakfast we depart to Arusha for lunch. A day room is provided at Serena Mountain Village before your transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your evening departure flight. You may want to extend your stay with a few days of relaxation in Exotic Zanzibar (optional) to brush off the dust from the bush or climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
Day 12: Arrive North America
Arrive home today, eager to share the excitement of your African safari.
